Hey everyone! Hope everyone is doing well!

Just wanted everyones opinion, I normally have a Libre Sensor 2 plus but have been finding the reading are completely off compared to my meter, so my diabetic nurse gave me a Dexcom one+ to try, I went to put it on today, application went fine but when trying to connect it to my phone it failed, tried everything but still it failed, luckily I have my Libre sensors still so put one of them on. I was looking online for any help to see what could have been wrong with the Dexcom and saw a photo online of a wire sticking out of the little hole on it, (did not read anymore, as I came straight here) so I went to check my one, (I have attached a photo) if this wire meant to be the filament that goes into the arm? Did I get a faulty one? Was it something I did wrong? If anyone could explain what has happened to this sensor I would really appreciate it! I have kept it to show my diabetic nurse when I see her next incase it needs to be sent back!

Best wishes to you all! Have a lovely evening!

Hi @No1DeadlyPoison .

I don’t see your photo attached.
However. I just looked online. There seems to be a looped wire in the application hole & connection issues.
Could be an application issue/fault.
If I was in this position. I might try contacting Dexcom for a replacement?
Do you still have the Dexcom aplicator?

Hi @No1DeadlyPoison , i use the Dexcom ONE + and I have had one sensor do this, colloquially known as ‘goosenecking’! I don’t think there’s anything that Dexcom say about why it happens, but since I had that one happen I make sure I press it really hard against my arm before pressing the button and I haven’t have it happen again. Dexcom will replace it, just ring them on 0800 031 5761
