This should only take a moment of your time – please keep reading.
Many thanks to those who answered my previous thread, but we need lots more responses, so let’s try a different tack.
Diabetes UK are trying to find out what is happening on the ground with diabetes services across the UK. Information will help them map issues and identify those areas where more needs to be done to ensure people with diabetes are provided with the essential care they need and expect. I know that some of you are unhappy with aspects of Diabetes UK's policies, but they are the most powerful pressure group that we have (and certainly are the group that the government pays most attention to), so this could be a valuable way of bringing deficiencies in care provision to the attention of national bodies.
All patients should receive NINE crucial tests from their GP at an annual review of their diabetes management. These are:
1. Get your blood glucose levels measured at least once a year. (HbA1c blood test)
2. Have your blood pressure measured and recorded at least once a year, and set a personal target that is right for you
3. Have your cholesterol measured every year..
4. Have your eyes screened for signs of retinopathy every year.
5. Have your legs and feet checked. The skin, circulation and nerve supply of your legs and feet should be examined every year..
6. Have your kidneys checked every year: urine test for protein (a sign of possible kidney problems) and a blood test to measure kidney function.
7. Have your weight checked and have your waist measured to see if you need to lose weight. If so, put it in your personal care/health plan with ways to achieve it that you have agreed with your doctor and dietician.
8. Get support if you are a smoker, including advice and support on how to quit, and put it in your personal care/health plan with ways to achieve it..
9. Develop your personal health and care plan with your doctor, to meet your own needs
PLEASE answer on this thread which of these tests you receive annually according to the following format:

N/A (not applicable):

Thank you very much for taking the trouble to do this. Please send in your response on this thread before 28 June, and I will forward the results to Diabetes UK.
