Ah - you got me - two squares of chocolate and an avocado today - but it is not the usual - I woke up really late and that was what I found when I wandered downstairs. The planned meal was tuna salad - maybe for dinner.
As @Resurgam says Weetabix is high in carbs. So is porridge though it breaks down into glucose less quickly. I used to have porridge in winter until I tested and my bg had spiked to over 10 two hours after eating. I have never eaten it since.
Some people find it doesn't affect them, the only way to find out is to test 90 - 120 minutes after eating.
I don't usually feel like eating first thing in the morning, I just have a mug of coffee with cream.
I have 'brunch' around 1200-1300, which is usually a couple of poached eggs, or bacon and egg, with wholemeal toast.
I'm a diabetic t2 have been for around 15 years, & I've let it get in my way of doing my job when I was at work as Ambulance crew, I'm now retired 6 years & I also have COPD as well, but I don't let it get the better of me as I'm a support member with St John Ambulance & a member of a Senior Citizens club which I'm a committee member & help to organize day trips & events throughout the year in which I take part in too. So don't give up as you can find something that you can get involved with. Good luck in what you get involved with. Paul.
I quit my full time care job in March and now work in a busy pub and our local B&M. I used to have quite a sedentary lifestyle but now I can walk 10 miles in one shift at the pub. I've lost 50lbs and my sugar levels are near perfect plus I've never been happier. Do what you want to do.
