I was happy to see cheese wasn't a problem on a reduced carb diet as I have always loved it and never really managed to give it up when I tried to go low fat at the advise of my HCP due to high cholesterol, I even tried the low fat cheeses and they were horrible. I frequently have it for lunch but I wouldn't want it for every meal.
I guess I'll find out when I see the nurse next.
So I need to lose weight but I'm eating what you're eating to gain weight.I have eaten ore cheese in the last 3months to try to up my weight which is up by1/2 a kilo and my cholesterol has. come down
CAROL
Then why would you eat it?I don't like cheese much but it is good for when I'm hungry, though I do tend to eat fat free natural cottage cheese. It's a lot lower in calories, fat and salt and less than half the protein of the Cathedral City mature cheddar that OH likes. Only problem is it is higher in carbs.....100gms contains 3.9g of carbs most of which is sugars. I'm lucky that it doesn't lift my BG so no worries there for me.
Obviously we're all different but if you need to loose weight cottage cheese may be the way to go.
Go back to high fat I doubt it will affect your cholesterol. I don't believe Eskimos have a high rate of heart disease.Amost 9 years ago my GP said I should go low fat because I had raised cholesterol I was a real cheese addict and I tried to find the perfect low fat cheese but never really found any I liked except M&S reduced fat cheddar recommended by my doctor who said her father-in-law had it. Over the last couple of years I have found that there are low fat extra mature cheddar cheeses now that tastes as good as the full fat ones I now have reduced fat cheese from Iceland Aldi and Sainsbury all I find are very good strong and tasty
Just have a bit less mate.So I need to lose weight but I'm eating what you're eating to gain weight.
I'll get the hang of this eventually.
Hi DonaldHave fun smashing the old plates and get plates smaller.. That's the best way to start a changed lifestyle of eating!!
Then if smashed.. (Not packed away) then you will not A) hunt out the old plates n revert B) you will feel guilty if you go back and get a 2nd plate!! C) you will start to learn to cook to your new plate size and you won't get left overs.
As another tip.. The "eat well plate n bowls" are way too big for me. I eat literally half the food that can go on these plates!!- they are literally "eat well" as in too much.. Do not waste your money getting these!!
Loving life
SorrHi Donald
