I've was diagnosed type 2 four months ago. I'm on insulin, feel recovered but the last few weeks I feel a mild ache across my chest. It's like indigestion and comes and goes during the day. It could be chest infection I guess, but I've not felt this feeling before. Has anyone had similar experience?

Hi Henry.
Welcome to the Forum.

I would go and see your GP and get this checked out. Any chest pains should not be ignored. It could be a number of things, many not Diabetes related.

Hi Henry

I agree with Ken, I awoke in the early hours of the 29th March 2008 with chest pains thinking it was my hiatus playing up again, so after going through 4 packets of gaviscon tablets and no end of roll ups, I eventually called the out of hours Dr at 3.30 that afternoon.(Saturday)
he said to come into the hospital in town for a check up and put me on an ecg and as soon as he saw the results he sent for an ambulance, I had been walking around all day with a heart attack, am not saying you are having one though but it does show you how it can be mistaken for something else,
So I would get it checked ASAP.

agree about the gp visit - i did when i was getting chest discomfort, turns out it was my blood pressure tablets, but gp still wanted me on an ECG first. Its nothing to worry about, they just stick a few pads on you and make you lay there for about 10-15 mins. If you're really lucky you might get a cute nurse to shave your chest for the pads! :P

Is a ECG the same test as you get prior to a operation? Last time I had a op, they put pads on my chest and wired me to a monitor.
