Has anyone else tried this? I've run out of test strips (seeing the diabetic nurse on Friday and hoping she'll be able to give me some) so I don't know what it's doing to my BS, but have to say it tastes really good. It contains maltitol, inulin and oligofructose, which are listed as "alimentary fibres", and is sweetened with steviol and erythritol. I'm not totally sure what that means in terms of a low carb diet but hopefully it's better than regular milk chocolate anyway (I'm not really a fan of dark unfortunately). It's available at bigger Tesco shops.

Tesco normally include all the nutritional values of many of their products on their web site, so you could have a look at that information, and maybe compare it with one of the bars of high (70%+) cocoa dark chocolate bars per 100g and see how it fares. But think too about how much you'll eat in one go and how many carbs this could add up to - some foods/treats will often be fine eaten in small portions!

Stevia and erythritol are considered to be safe for diabetics and have no (or minimal) unpleasant side effects but you should Google for information on the others ngredients you mentioned , as many sugar alcohols can cause "gastric issues". However the only way to see if it's actually OK for you though is to test when you get your next batch of strips.

Chocologic is 55% cocoa, 34.9% fat, 18.7% carbs. Cost is £1.50/100g
Lindt 90% Cocoa is 90% cocoa, 55% fat, 14% carbs. Cost is £1.99/100g

I think I prefer Lindt 90%. The ultimate low carb chocolate is Montezuma Absolute Black 100% cocoa. That is 100% cocoa, 54% fat, 8% carbs. Cost is £2.50/100g and has a bit of a kick.

I've tried Chocologic. I bought a milk bar and a dark bar. It was a few months ago.

From memory, i ate 4 squares, thought it was OK (nothing special, but 'ok').
So i ate 4 more.
...and had a slightly gurgly tum for the rest of the day.

Thought it was a good way of enforcing portion control. But i do prefer Lindt and Lidl's and Aldi's and Tescos own brands.

I tried the dark version without any consequences, but I had been eating small amounts of the 91 percent cocoa from Lidl and rationed myself to one strip of the fairly small squares at a time.
The polyols, aka sugar alcohols seem to be fairly innocuous in small amounts - but I got a sharp lesson after eating three Atkins bars on the way home from the shop. I remain cautious decades later.
It seems to react in accordance with the values stated on the packet, and did not show up as elevated BG - but I did eat it when cooking dinner, so that could have been a factor.
