Well was it hallmarked ! and how many sixpences did you find in the pud,
Yes it was and I wish I had it now. In the pud Gran hid six small silver coins which I believe were George V threepenny bits. We had to give them back every year of course!

Love this thread, a few other childhood memories are Airfix Models and Annuals, my Nana would buy us either the Broons or Oor Wullie every Christmas

I remember being given a toy pastry making set by 2 maiden aunts when I was about 14.... Also had a Silver Cross twin hooded dolls pram and a black dolly to go in it... and a Jackie Annual

My sister sent me the Broons or Oor Willie in turn every year. She stopped when when I reached 50 years old (don't know why).

Both sets of grandparents have clubbed together to buy a silver cross doll pram for our granddaughter £250 quilted eiderdown and frilly pillow very beautiful, takes me back to my children's big pram!

It's worth buying the Sunday Post just to read them both, turning 50 is no reason to stop buying you them izzi

I have every Star Trek annual for each year that were published.
I also worked with a guy who collected annuals as a hobby. His collection was really impressive. Beano, dandy, etc.
My childhood favourites were to do with Thunderbirds and the other Gerry Anderson series, fireball XL5, Supercar, Captain Scarlett. And of course Dr Who.

Do you think I like Sci-Fi?

Same here. One Christmas I got a huge 4-5 storey Sindy dolls house. I can remember my dad taking ages to build it and me spending ages putting everything in it. Then my cousin came! She, for some reason or other, decided to do a roly poly on my bed and yes, as her feet went over so did my dolls house with it. I remember crying my eyes out, my dad being cross and my cousin being quickly taken home without even as much as a sorry. My dad fixed it as best as he could but it was never the same and not very sturdy again
