so it was the first of December ..
Deep in the dark cold freezer .. a little bright light came on ..
Slowly emerging from the solid block ice cube , was ice ....
Ice the penguin..
Yawning but looking refreshed and glowing from a rather long sleep ..

Ice was feeling hungary though , so quickly ate a tub of the best quality vanilla ice cream ..
Then a slice of uncooked pizzia ..

Suddenly, ice the penguin thought .. ?
I need to warm up ...!
He slowly made his way out of the freezer
I have a date , it's that time of year ..ice thought......

A large man wearing a fur coat and hat, his beard was white and long. His hair was also white. His voice came from deep in his belly. "Ho! what have we here," he said.

With a HoHoHo, a jolly chuckle and a belly that wobbled liked jelly, he took Ice in his hands and asked him what he would like for Christmas and the most important question of all................"has he been a good little penquin" ?
"Oooh yes Santa, I have been a very good Penguin said Ice, a Christmas present that would warm me up, would be ever so nice "

Someone to go on magical journeys with ..

While ice also wanted slippers and a dressingown , he also needed company ..
A friend for Christmas and for life ...

Ice wanted to experience friendship because he knew that soon, he would be slaughtered at the local abattoir and that his penguin flesh would be used as fuel for santa's reindeer.

Santa recognised that he was in the penguins debt, and not just ice, but all the penguins that had helped fuel Rudolph and Co over the years.

Santa, in his infinite wisdom decided to repay his debt by taking all the penguins to..

to...... his magical world where he showed Ice that the penguins and reindeer were best of friends and played happily all day long and that his nightmares of Penguin eating reindeer could be banished for good....everyone knows that reindeer eat hay with magic dust and turnips to help them fly.....

It was Donna and Blitzen and all the other reindeers jingling as they flew closer to santas workshop

Ice flapped his wings in excitement he'd never been this excited since Woodstock in the summer of love and now this was to be the winter of.......

And blinking , ice saw his true love asleep on one of the hay bales
Cream was looking all content .. and very pretty ..

Ice slowly whispering, wake up wake up pretty Cream

Cream opened her eyes and smiled , she sat up and together the two penguins enjoyed a cup of tea from a flask which ice had in his
Ruck sack .. he also pulled out a tartan blanket , even penguins feel the cold ..

Suddenly like magic , glittering gold thread dangled in from of them ..
Both ice and cream held on to the threads of gold , and suddenly the ground was a bit far away ..they were flying , but where ..
They were off on a journey going up up and away ... tbc X

Higher and higher they travelled.....the gold thread was alive with the same magic dust Santa would use on Christmas Eve....but suddenly Ice heard a strange sound.....

It was the call of the Lesser Spotted Narwhal, calling them to come to him and visit with him. Ice and Cream floated on the magic golden ribbon down towards where the Narwhal lay on the ice when.......tbc

..a whaling ship breached the horizon! With not a moment to lose, Ice donned his superhero costume and..

Plunged into the water he was swimming like s torpedo towards the ship and clamboured on board and said to the captain it's Christmastime don't go whaling turn your ship around and spend the festive season with your loved ones

The captain agreed and gave out the order to set sail for home

Ice then dived into the water and swam back to ......

....where cream had gently floated down and hovered just above the waves on the tartan picnic rug which had become more of a magic carpet ..... she helped him aboard and with a shake of his short feathers his superhero suit was packed away and he was warm and dry again.....and set off back to meet the waiting Narwhal ...
