Coma

@Melgar this is interesting - I read it some time ago and thought I'd found an explanation. Burt no. Maybe I didn't put enough emphasis on the fact that it comes and goes. Without anything much changing, it does or doesn't happen. I can have a run of two months of sweats with two or three or twelve "dry" nights scattered within that period: it doesn't behave and it isn't predictable.

The other thing is that even after a >36 hour fast I don't see "hypo" effects of any kind. The sweats etc are confined to the 4-6am period while asleep - I think this is a factor, somehow.

@KennyA I know what you mean. I spend too long trying to figure out why I get some really nasty lows. At one time I was getting them a few times a week, dropping down to the low 2's. I thought at one point I had Insulin autoimmune syndrome! My liver simply fails to correct the low. No one knows why. I stopped drinking alcohol because of them. My Dr and my DN suggested I have something carby before I sleep. It worked. I get them far less frequently now, but when I do get them they are still really low sugar events. I am very mindful now. What I sent you is from my own deliberations and research about my own hypo events.

I would be too afraid of fasting, although I do find my blood sugars rise up out of nowhere if I do not eat. I cannot shake the fear that my blood sugars will drop. I have seen them drop very fast, within minutes.
