When my numbers were a little high I remembered reading someone said they ate something sweet then the numbers went down. I've found I sometimes need to up my carbs (+20 -> +30g) to lower my numbers. I'm guessing my liver needs it still sometimes to not feel like my body is in crisis ..... like for dieters that hit plateaus? Also I'm suspecting a little raise in carbs sort of reminds my body it needs to work at it and not get complacent then my numbers drop a lot. I do that for my supper and then it is good again for quite a while. For me anyway.
I can't say I've ever heard of folks using sweet foods to lower their numbers, unless it was attempting to tackle physiological insulin resistance, which tends to be very different to hyperglycaemia.
