Could you give your doc an ear bashing and get the strips on prescription?i had my chemist ring one of the other doc's in the practice and got them prescribed.Thanks bluetit or toothi will look into that. I just got the aviva accu chek from asda yesterday for £10 and im ready running out of the supplies that came with it, but the price of the strips and needles on Amazon are going to be near enough £50 including delivery!

It is a shock to discover you have diabetes, but as i found from all the wonderful people on this forum,it is controllable and with care even bearable! Please keep posting and any q's ask ask ask :)
Regarding needles, I only change it when I think it needs to be changed. Sometimes I only change once or twice per pot of strips.Thanks bluetit or toothi will look into that. So long as it is only yourself who uses the needle of course. If you intend to stab somebody else you really should put a new needle in.

Hi pavlosdog, ive found more info and support here than ive had in the last 4 years with my GP. It's brilliant hereHi @Muggle71. You should really use a new needle every time you test to avoid cross contamination. Hope you find the forum helpful, there are lots of knowledgeable peeps here. I do lchf and its done wonders with my bgs
On waking it was 7.5 im trying to be really economical with the strips and needles as they are very expensive. Ive just rang the Dr and I can have them prescribed but not until my appt 11 March :/ can't even get a phone consultation any earlier
