Hi @Diligent500 ..
I don't think the battery is rechargeable .. this is from the review at:
http://www.diabetes.co.uk/blood-glucose-meters/contour-next-one.html

Technical specifications:
  • Blood sample size: 0.6 microlitres
  • Time to result: 5 seconds
  • Measurement range: 0.6 - 33.3 mmol/L
  • Memory: 800 test results
  • Averages: 7, 14, 30 and 90 days
  • Battery: 2 three-volt CR2032 or DL2032 coin cell batteries. 225 mAh capacity
  • Battery life: Approximately 1,000 tests
  • Dimensions: 97 mm (L) x 28 mm (W) x 14.9 mm (H)
  • Weight: 36 grams
  • Meter life: 5 years

The battery lasts for a good while even when it is only at 1 bar. The batteries are cr2032 I think. The info is in the literature and it tells you how to change them as well. You can download info from the Bayer site but you have to buy the batteries yourself. Something to do with lithium batteries through the Royal Mail. It's a great meter but the strips are expensive if you have to buy them yourself.

Can get them on persciption
