control solution

I've no idea I've never used control solution on any of my meters and I don't even know what it's for.
I bought some and tested my meter a couple of months ago because I felt I should! However there was such a wide range for each category, ‘medium’ and ‘high’ that I didn’t feel I’d achieved much by testing my meter!
