Here in Argentina, you go to the emergency room because your ankle hurts, because you have a skin allergy, or any other problem, and they give you cortisone. It seems like cortisone is a catch-all that fixes everything. The truth is, once I had hemorrhoids and they wanted to give me a painkiller plus cortisone. I let them give me the cortisone, and a little while later I checked my blood sugar and it was extremely high. That's why I never let them inject me with cortisone again. Besides, I understand that cortisone lowers your immune system. Is that true?

I don’t know if it’s true it lowers your immune system, but cortisone is a steroid which are notorious for raising blood sugar, albeit temporarily, sometimes if a steroid is needed we just have to manage our BG best we can
