My aplogies I did think I had edited this when I saw you mention particular nuances that were quite relevant to you and would naturally make you anxious. My aplogies it didn't edit correctly and if I came across as insensitive. Even my general point about age isn't meant to be flippant.. I have elderly parents that I worry a lot about and the impact it would have on them if they got it. Nevermind my own associated risk even as a younger well controlled diabetic!
I hope the media remember that this is not proof just a possible association, or there will be another "MMR causes autism" type panic.Further evidence that Covid-19 may cause T1 diabetes in children after spike in new cases.

I've read that lying chest down in bed instead of the usual chest up often helps those with lung problems, due to a different part of the lungs being used the most.Cheers for posting.
Read through a bit and regards impaired lung efficiency.. Perhaps true, yet anecdotally my asthma has improved tremendously, as have many others since going LCHF..
hopefully if covid does befall us here, as expected, that MAY God willing give those of us on LCHF perhaps a small benefit .
Nice about it being sars2... Did not know that.
my last HbA1c was 8.5, hopefully I will not get covid, but if I did would I recover or would I have more serious consequences, or could it prove fatal for meVery little has been said about the particular risks of Coronavirus to PWD.
We often read that the risk of death with Coronavirus is "only" 2%, with critical illness about 10%
But then we read that most of those suffering serious effects have pre-existing conditions.
80% have a pre-existing condition.
In effect, if you have a pre-existing condition then the risk of death is increased to around 10%; risk of critical illness increased to around 40% if you "catch" Coronavirus. The medical term for these increases in morbidity (death rates) is comorbidity.
Medical papers have been written on the prime condition which creates concern and we can read them by searching for Coronavirus Comorbid. Trouble is that COVID 2019 is too new for particular research papers to have been written - however we get a fairly accurate picture by looking at two "older", more researched Coronaviruses, SARS and MERS. These are very similar to COVID, indeed many medical professionals objected to the name COVID, saying that it should be called SARS2 as they are so similar.
We can find out just what those pre-existing conditions are - and which is the prime concern.
It is Diabetes - both T1 & T2

difficult doing an ultra low carb diet, being type 1, as do need certain carbs, to stop me going hypoYou'd most likely recover with few if any ill effects like 44.8 million others have.
You are at slightly higher risk due to an elevated HbA1c so it might be best to try to bring that down by following an ultra low carb diet. The improved metabolic health that this would bring would also be a major benefit.
Of course there is always a risk that you could get serious consequences or indeed die.. but that risk is there every day anyway.
Surely though hypos are for the most part the fault of excess exogenous insulin rather than lack of carbs?difficult doing an ultra low carb diet, being type 1, as do need certain carbs, to stop me going hypo

have a read of Dr Lake who is T1 and eats very low carb.
Are any of them actually ill?Just chatted to my neighbour over the garden fence this morning and he and 4 of his 5 household have contracted Covid 19 and are isolating until next week. He and his wife have been hit the worse with it.
I have been self isolating since Friday because I received an alert Thursday night to inform me I have been in contact with someone who has Covid 19. I have only been to work, school escort and I went to Morrison's masked up on the Tuesday.
It's creeping ever nearer.............
Are any of them actually ill?
Or is it simply another testing error?
Like your festive emoji! If anyone's going to catch it then it will be in their household. All have been tested.
