Hi @Nixterjoe I'm going for mine in an hour's time so I'll watch the responses you get with interest. I told my diabetic nurse I was a bit apprehensive about what it would do to my numbers and she said "yup but only for a couple of days, believe me flu or covid would do much, much worse" She then said, with a twinkle, "you could always not test for a couple of days"

There are many things that affect our BG in addition to diet including exercise, stress, illness and drugs.
It is very common for a jab to affect our BG although we are all different so, for some, the covid vaccine caused BG to be lower.
But this is not a long term affect - it will only last a few days.

It's a lot to ask of any immune system to handle two different lots of injection, so no surprise if it plays Old Harry with anyone's BG. Probably does for non-diabetics too. I'm inclined to agree with Margarettt's Nursie and not worry about heightened BG for a few days.

I seem to recall mine rose for some of the past vaccinations, but not all.
As usual with bg there will other factors in play too.
I go for mine on Saturday, fasted after yoga so open to anything bg wise

Probably does for non-diabetics too.
Why?
The pancreas of a person without diabetes would automatically release insulin in response to the dump of glucose from the liver and, without insulin resistance, this would maintain blood sugar levels.
People without diabetes may sometimes see a spike but it is a very short term spike which will quickly return to normal.

People without diabetes do not see rises in the morning due to Dawn Phenomenon (even though their livers dump glucose just like ours) and the same is true with illness and stress.

Please be careful as a friend of mine here in Queensland had the same thing.. took the booster jab and his blood sugars went up to 9.7 it’s been 3 weeks and still high. He’s besides himself.. I’ve asked him to get organic lemon, freeze it and grate on his food and see what happens. I use it everyday and even drink cinnamon tea. They both help control BG.

Sorry to ask this:
Are you guys expected to take those Covid boosters?
It’s not mandatory in Australia anymore …

I had my flu and covid jabs first thing on Saturday, low all day Saturday (often a sign I'm brewing something) and high when eating food from Saturday evening onwards (though curiously not trending high with normal basal once the effects of the food have been sorted out).

Hard to know if it's the jabs or something the kids have given me that's coincided, or the fact I didn't go for a ride at the weekend as my arms were hurting.

I'm hoping it goes away tomorrow!
