Is there something that will help me overcome sweet cravings please.
Its like giving up smoking - hell to start with, then after a week it gets easier, after a month it gets even easier. Under stress the cravings get stronger again, but they will pass.
Riding out the cravings, knowing thy will pass, is easier if there is nothing sweet in the house and you plan distractions for those time so you are not caught out.
In that case I fear you will find those cravings are never really put to bed.. Try and wean yourself off them if at all possible otherwise you will always be hankering after sweet things which could lead to giving in.Yes no sugar or fruit in the house only sweetener for tea and coffee cannot cope with no sweetener in tea kettle coffee.
I think I must try to wean myself off of sweeteners.Thank you for your reply soon friends.Replacing sweet things containing sugar with sweet things containing sweeteners might help control your BG but isn't helping with a craving for sweet things and might even make it worse. If you have sugar in your tea for example, gradually cutting down the amount to zero is better than using sweeteners. One day you will find if you have tea with sugar by accident, it will taste disgustingly sweet.
