Work,
Hi, I'm wondering if there is anyone who might be able to suggest recipes to help get me cope with just having been diagnosed with dairy intolerance and also too much yeast. I have type 2 diabetes and trying to follow a low carb diet. Now it would seem that I can no longer have milk, cream, cheese, and as for yeast that seems to be in most foodstuffs other than meat.. I'm at a bit of a loss. Perhaps some of you have similar problems, I'd be grateful for any advice, Kate

I don't have a lactose intolerance or yeast, but I can't eat dairy or grains!
There are some great ideas and recipes recommended on the low carb forum.

I don't eat dairy or grains either. I center my meals around fats, proteins and veg. My fats are mainly olive oil, mayo, avocado, olives and some macadamia nuts. Meals are salads topped with P and fat or green veggies with P and F. Guacamole and celery for BF. Not eating dairy does make LCHF more difficult for sure. I don't digest grains, starch or sugar so I haven't eaten them in a long time. IT is an adjustment when we lose a food we are used to eating and have to find a replacement.. Guac/avocado has been a key element in my diet and keeps BS very steady. It fills me up too.

@CUILLIN - I've had really good results keeping yeast/candida under wraps with olive leaf extract, and wild oregano - both standard food remedies/supplements for yeast overgrowth. Especially, for me - the olive leaf extract, but wild oregano is good for maintenance, for me, and food related outbreaks. (I guess as we all know - yeast/candida loves to eat sweet!)
