Well done to Danone for having the foresight to produce a yoghurt which is not only fat free but has no added sugar as well! No longer will I have to trawl the supermarkets looking at every label or put up with bland natural yoghurt.

Danone Shape Zero still has 10.6g of carbs per 120g pot, I love natural yogurt and eat it on its own or over my cereal.

Lidl's bucket 'o greek is amazing. Thick, creamy and lo-carb!

I was going to get that one after a recommendation on here, but since discovered I need to eat low fat too, and it's 10% fat. :(

dr oetker Onken fat free strawberry, 7.9 per 100gm and the vanilla version has even less carbs.

Only trouble is they come in 450gm pots and trying to restrict yourself to 100gm is haaaaard.

I have 2% Total greek yoghurt. Still has the yummy texture and nutritional values as follows :
Typical values per 100g
Energy 281kj
Energy 67kcal
Protein 8.4g
Carbohydrate 3.8g
Fat 2g
of which saturates 1.3g

Works for me :D

Lidl do a brand called Milbona Low Fat Natural Yogurt (1.5% fat) which is absolutely beautiful, I use it on my morning porridge and it only has 6.2g of carb per 100g.

Thanks for that Nigel, must keep an eye out for that one.

I'm a low carber and I'm thrilled that I can now buy Shape Zero yoghurts. I find these great, and they have no added sugar. My bloods don't rise either so that makes me extra happy!!!! :D :D :D :D :D

I see Danone have a new "improved" recipe for Shape Zero yoghurts which now includes 11.5g of sugar per 120g pot!!! Thanks for that. Just eaten a pot without realising and downed two teaspoons of sugar. What was wrong with the old recipe?! Can we encourage Danone to revert to no added sugar, or even sugar free?

Hi. My wife who has been buying this for me reported that Tesco no longer stocks the 0% sugar version. Looking at the Danone website it is no longer in it's Shape range. I've sent a web message asking why they did this. There are just a few alternative yogurts available. Why would a yogurt supplier remove a zero sugar product from it's range when the % of type 2 diabetics is increasing all the time; dumb?

Hi

I received the following reply from Danone when I queried the new replacement product which contains added sugar:

"Thank you for your email regarding Shape Zer0% and Shape Delights 0%.

Your comments have caught our attention and we are sorry to hear your concerns concerning the changes in this product and the suitability for Diabetics.

The Shape Delights 0% continue to be fat free and we have now improved these desserts with the addition of more fruit and a very small amount of added sugar to improve the aftertaste.

With Diabetes being a complex disease, it still can be suitable for people with diabetes– providing the sugar content is factored into your overall diet. We recommend discussing it with your GP or dietician.

Danone is really attentive to consumer expectations and we will make sure your comments will be taken into consideration."

So, I'm not hopeful that they will revert back.

No HCP ever rammed anything down my throat, neither was I ever told to eat more carbs and I have no desire to eat more fat thanks :D

There must be a reason why Danone have done this, its probably down to cost, perhaps they have changed the recipe and the only way they can make it palatable is to include sugar.

Irish Yogurts diet range seem good on the no added sugar front.
Some of the weightwatcher yogurts seem ok too.
Other ones worth looking at are the fat free activa range.

Irish Yoghurts do a Diet range which is a fat free probiotic yoghurt that is gluten and GM free and has no added sugar. Carbs are from 5.1 to 7.4 depending on the flavour (due to fruit and lactose). I got mine from Tesco
