David ...NAFLD and Type 2 Diabetes

I’ve reversed my diabetes and my NAFLD too, plus lost a shed load of weight in the last two years too. I used Metformin and a low carb diet, what did you do exactly?

How long does it take to reverse?

I use the word reverse with caution, I do prefer the term well controlled as if I revert to my previous eating habits I’d undo all my good work. I got my diagnosis HbA1c of 70 down to a non diabetic level in 4 months. Other people are quicker while others are slower. We are all different.

It really depends on what you consider to be reversal - I was seeing close to normal blood glucose levels quite quickly, reflected in the second Hba1c test, but I was not changed to 'in remission' on my notes until this summer, about 2 and 1/2 years from diagnosis.
