Hello Jaylee. Yes they are stable. I’m dealing with the diabetes but I still feel out of control and lost. Would prefer to talk over PM if you don’t mind
Hi,
I kind of get "out of control and lost." I camped in that wilderness years ago..
I feel it inappropriate as a guy myself to enter into PM territory.
However, I will tag in female Ds who may just help..
@Juicyj @catapillar
I can assure you, there is a way out the "forest."
Hi @tvnerd deaung with diagnosis regarding a life changing condition is similar to the grieving process, I too suffered after being diagnosed and found that meditation helped me come to terms with it, I was prescribed anti depressants but was reluctant to take them as they were simply masking my emotions. Talk to those around you too about how you are feeling there’s no need to to feel alone.
Though I have been on medication too and have had counselling, I have not found either to be effective. I feel like I’m out of options
How long have you been taking the anti-depressant meds? It does take time for them to build up in your system and take effect, usually 6-8 weeks. If you are still not feeling better after around six weeks you should talk to your GP. Some meds don't work for some people, and you might need to be changed to a different medication, or dosage.Though I have been on medication too and have had counselling, I have not found either to be effective. Hi Tvnerd. How long have you had diabetes and did you have any depression before getting diabetes?
I find similar thoughts and feeling creeping in. Especially when first diagnosed or when they told me I had background retinopathy or just getting a bad hba1c can get me down.
But we mostly do the best we can. We all have a work, life, family, diabetes balancing act and to some extent what will be will be.
hi thereWho is a DSN?
hi there
A DSN is a diabetic specialist nurse.
they can be a good starting point for getting help with managing.
you should have one since diagnosis at your hospital.
they can advise on making adjustments to insulin doses , refer to a dietician, get you in sooner to see a consultant ,
meet up in between appointments to assist.
