I've been using Dexcom One for a couple of years now and never had a problem with it. Personally I find it infinitely more reliable than Freestyle.I recieved a dexcom one sensor as part of a trial, I attatched it to the underside of my arm. The app threw up an error and told me to remove the sensor which I did. However when I looked at the sensor I notices the wire had broke off and wasnt on the table where i was sitting.
Has this happened to anyone else? I do have an appointment at urgent care in the morning just to see if the wire is still in my arm.
Take care all.
Thanks for the reply, I must have just been unlucky then. Urgent care examined the site but couldnt determin if anything was in there, as its plastic it wont show up on xray so they advised to keep an eye out in case of any infection. Chances are its on the floor somewhere but its so small and fine i cant see it. Dexcom are sending me a replacement and a return label to send the faulty one back.I've beebn using Dexcom One for a couple of years now and never had a problem with it. I’m not familiar with the D1.There was deffinately a probe when I took off the cap of the applicator, but yeah I wonder if it was properly attatched. We couldnt feel anything under the skin but then its so fine, i guess it would be difficult to detect. I will certainly keep an eye out in case of infection tho. Thanks for the reply.

I phoned them and got straight through, she offered to send me a new sensor and asked me to send the faulty one back.I had problems with my Dexcom One+ triaI. I attached the sensor on my stomach just to the left of belly button and up a bit (carefully following instructions). My first reading came through as 2.3 and then settled into a succession of readings of 2 - so something obviously wrong. After about 15 hours it stopped sending readings and I got an error message telling me to remove sensor.
When I looked at the sensor there was no needle sticking out of the sensor like there always is with a libre. There was a bit of blood on the sensor and looking down the hole in the centre of the sensor there was a bit of bent wire that looked like the end of a paper clip. There was no mark on my skin.
I reported this in a detailed email to Dexcom and have had no response at all from them! I had told them that I was going to report my Dexcom One+ trial findings to my local Coventry Diabetes UK meeting so I am a bit surprised they didn’t get back with an offer of a replacement trial sensor.
Maybe I will buy a new sensor as I am specially interested in testing how effective calibration is.
Regards, Graeme
I have found out how to restart the Dexcom ONE sensor (won't go into the details here - please check Youtube if interested )I had problems with my Dexcom One+ triaI. I've been using Dexcom1/1+ for a few years now, but I've very recently had two sensors fail in similar way to what you describe. The filament was visible when I looked at the sensor before fitting, but after fitting there was something sticking out of the black dot on the top of the sensor. One of these sensors failed during warm up, and one came back with a failure within seconds after pairing. Removing the sensor showed no filament on the skin side of the sensor, or in my skin. I'm going to try phoning them in the next few days, so I'll report back.I had problems with my Dexcom One+ triaI. I paid privately for my dexcoms until New Zealand Pharmac finally started funding them for T1s last year. Yes, you do get occasional failures but they always replace them. 4 in 180 days sounds about right to me. (Disclaimer, that's using G7 ad not the One+ but the two products are very similar.)Apart from knocking a sensor off with Libre never had any failures I wonder when I request the next faulty replacement if Dexcom are going to say - no

I contacted Dexcom by telephone about the missing filaments, and was sent 2 replacement sensors (3 total replacements in the last two months, in spite of their website saying they would only replace 2 per annum). I'm NHS funded in the UK, but my prescription is limited to 3 sensors every 30 days, so I'm often taking days off to make up for failures.I've been using Dexcom1/1+ for a few years now, but I've very recently had two sensors fail in similar way to what you describe.
