Type 2 Diabetes and cholesterol

I have managed to eliminate sunrise syndrome by eating a late night protein snack. I have also been eating generally more meat than I would like. I have been vegan and like it but the carb question is bothering me. My last blood work shows elevated cholesterol. Can I go vegan and keep my bs and cholester in range?

Up front I will say that I do not believe a Vegan diet is nutritionally optimal. Some have stated the mastering diabetes method "works", which is a world food plant based diet , with fasting and exercise. When pictures have been posted on this site of the meals, they are of the size that is definitely calorie controlled. Cholesterol is almost guaranteed to be low on WFPB - but the question is what are the adverse effects of higher cholesterol. The simple answer is lower cholesterol does not correlate with a longer life, the inverse is closer to the truth.

It is possible to have median level cholesterol on a meat based diet (which does keep blood glucose in check), you might want to review my recent post:
