Diabetes.co.uk email depressing updates

I am new to all this and diabetes and hart disease and in general and i have had a massive learning curve both me and my wife,I spent 5 days in a ACUTE HART ward and hooked up to a GAMMA machine. What found was the other four patients who with me.Three where deing from hart diseases.the eldest was 53.After i spent another four days on ACUTE DIABETIC ward again spent with two other gentlemen. Both could not walk.both where waiting to half legs or feet removed because they had circulation and gangrenous problems.one had cancer as well. What i have in my health problems i felt when i came home was nothing compared to them souls and make me thankful for what i have.EVERY MORNING when i wake up i am grateful to be alive. Most of all i Still think of them also the staff at them UNITS who looked after my self and them gentlemen.

Yep it can be depressing agreed, but life could be a lot worse, and to me-(I have no kids)-I don't want to live to an old age to be honest-I've seen to many OAP's trying to cope, and ending up in residential placements etc....I couldn't handle that...when my stepdad at the age of 70+ had a quadruple by pass done-I thought to myself I wouldn't have done that....I'm not yet 50, but there is no way that I want an old age, I just don't....and I still see old age as 70-however since seeing my stepdad recover and what he has done since, I wonder if I would have it done......

Whatever age I live to, I have one life, and I am going to live it the best I can. I can't make any forecast of what is or isn't going to happen, none of us know that, and at the end of the day...we will all become statisitics for others,,,,,so best make them good ones...not to worry others who will follow after us with diabetes...

When I go, I want them to say-she was diabetic xx years and she had a **** good life and did everything she wanted to....we just got to make it all the best we can, and hope that our statistics will prove to be better than the ones they forecast in their depressing articles....

Due to diabetes I am now losing weight and exercising more, I reckon it'll extend my life expectancy!

If you find the e-mail depressing do as I did..

Go into your profile, select board preferances and where is says can Administrator E-Mail information select No.. Then you don't recieve them!

And if you failed to do this before being banned, then you just your the settings of your inbox, mark as spam so it goes into junk mail.. Delete without reading...

If you dont want to receive these news mails you can also simply click the link on the bottom of one to 'Unsubscribe to news' or some such thing, its pretty much the bottom line of the email.

Or do as I do and just delete them I get two as I registered on the main site as well as the forum but used two different email addresses but its only a single click to delete them and I get loads of other stuff I delete every day so its not that hard. Quiet often I dont even read them, if the 'news' is interesting it will usually be discussed here anyway :D

I dont want those e-mails at all..how do I stop them
I have enough real life pain going on..I dont need this( bereavemnet and illnees with family)
I need a smile :(

Hi Heblady :)
The above message from Sid Bonkers comes from further up this thread. I hope this helps you to stop the emails.
I'm very sorry for your loss. I hope you find your smile again soon :)
