Hi All,
I'm thinking of getting 2 small tattoos one on each arm in the elbow joints that indicate Diabetes 2. Is there a standard emblem that is recognosed Europe wide or even World wide?? I ask because I currently live in Spain and what with the language barrier or indeed being found unconcious or whatever I would like those who may find me to see something that says Diabetes 2 :?: . May sound morbid but better to be safe than sorry. I know there are different lockets and bands that can be bought but if one is swimming and removed this item I'd like a back up.
Cheers Eaglet

hypocrisy, prejudice and the corrupt legal system (never got compensation I deserved from an accident)
I have no idea about emblems etc, but another thought maybe is there a latin name for diabetes? My logic is that maybe medical people the world over would know the latin name?

Thanks but it was the 'picture' that I wanted. As they say 'a picture speaks a thousand words' or some such. thanks anyway,

Diabetes IS Latin (adaptation from Greek). The root 'diabet' works for many languages.
Thanks, as you say they are very much alike in Spanish where I am:-

diabético/diabetes = diabetic/diabetes but as they say 'a picture speaks a thousand words' or something like that and I'd prefer that option.

Thanks again,
