I have now had type 1 diabetes for 7 years and am in my mid 20s, however even though before now I have never had any issue coping with my diabetes I realise now it's effecting me more than I ever thought!
even though I am in confident in most things I have none when it comes to my body and the bruises and other marks left over, meaning I never let anyone get remotely close to me romantically. I'm just pushing everyone away, even though I just want someone close
I'm also now struggling to control my hbac1, and my hospital are trying to help, but they still don't get it. I am waiting for a pump at the moment, but dunno if that's gonna make me feel worse!!
I'm just really starting to struggle and don't know what to do, it's a lonely feeling!!

Hi from dublin
I have been a t1 for 33 years and I think a lot of t1's here will confirm we all walked that path and please be ensured it will pass. Try to stay calm and seek support from your loved ones they are essential in accepting your life is different

Hello @MissPlum1 - I honestly think a lot of us can sympathise with you, I am 5 years in now and my tum always looks a bruised and marked. I do think the pump will help your control so you are in the best position now to improving your HbA1c, just be patient though when you get it though it takes a while for your settings to get adjusted, however you will be in close contact with your team to watch this, it will get a lot better, please let us know how you get on ? :)

I can't write now because I've gotta get back to work but I totally relate. Practically 20yrs of diabetes, also in mid 20s and totally struggling with diabetes practically and emotionally. Hang in there, ttyl
