Have just seen a TV add for very cheap Singer Sewing machines and Overlockers at Lidl from 6 October. The overlocker is £125 and the sewing machine slightly less.

B#gger......bought a Singer from them few weeks back .... good it is too. Didn't expect the overlocker to be back. Don't need both though

That's a shame. I think I use my overlocker more than the sewing machine these days. I never thought I would but it's so much faster.

Never used one but was keen to get one and have my old one as backup...or anything overlocker couldn't do....

It does look lovely on you. That's a fabulous colour too.

You are both very Sweet to say that. No pun intended.

I'm sure you can make one that looks good on you too. :)

The pattern is really easy.
From collar, add one ever alt row for the sleeve hole until big enough for chest, then add one every 8 row till the end.
For sleeve, start with enough stitches to cover the shoulders and then add one every alternate rows to match the sleeve hole.
Then decrease one every 8 rows till the end.

To make on to fit me you would have had to make a 5 panel front using all the stitches ;)

Wasted yesterday making a dress that is too wide across the neck. Surely my shoulders haven't got slimmer??

Show a pic of it? I've failed to get it right first time for so many projects I've gotten quite good at cheating. Maybe can see if there are any moves we can make to turn it around.

Thanks for the suggestions. It is a fitted dress so there is no spare fabric to make darts and no seam in the front that I could take in slightly. The actual shoulder seams and armhole seams are in the right place. It's just that the neck itself is cut too wide. It was intended for work so I don't want my underwear on show! If I make it again I will cut the shoulders about 1.5 cm wider on the neck side.

Could you make a lace insert? Or broderie anglaise one....even a light Jersey one...depending on the fabric it's made of?

I am busy making these today

Pretty, and very clever!

I'm not taking credit for the design - I had a pattern from Spoilt Rotten Beads but they are very easy. Made 12 today and have ordered some more wings! We have about 24 small crystal Angels which go along the mantelpiece and windowsill so I thought they would look nice with them.
