Yes, she'll only be working 3 days in her new job so hopefully meet for lunch now and again.

Going to Canterbury today, shopping for new work shoes; I don't enjoy shopping but it's got to be done. Lunch might be involved :D

First casualty, one of my Honeysuckle's has been blown off of its trellis and the storm proper hasn't even hit yet. Everyone is out so it is blowing about and I can see at least one stem has been broken.
Ne'er mind, I can call it early coppicing and it will recover.
 
I have done so little today and enjoyed it so much that tomorrow I plan to do even less!

And the KittenCat says, "Finally. She is starting to get it." ^. .^
 
Morning all

We got a taste of storm Hannah but not bad and we've got patches of blue sky out there now.

Going out for brekkie this morning then ironing and hopefully I'll get some time for crochet too.

I'll be putting a piece of brisket in the slow cooker shortly for tea tonight - yummy.

Evening all

I wasn't well yesterday, I did go to work but didn't last long. Slept on the settee for 1.5 hours then veg'd for the rest of the day.

Back to normal this morning after a good night's sleep and back to work. I was starving by lunch time.

I am well, but have been very sleepy all day. I should go out for a walk but I'm too lazy.

I may be getting a new Tablet today, depending on stocks of one on offer. I'm a bit concerned that I'll go 'dark' if I log off with the current Tablet as last time I did that it took a couple of days to be re admitted and my iPad still won't allow me to log off/on. Current Tablet has lasted 5-6 years so I can't complain. I am saving for a pc (among other things) so eventually I hope to be able to make fewer mistakes and be able to download a fair amount of stuff. Gotta get me one of those bendy monitors, they look Ace!

What kind of tablet may you be getting? I have a Nook 7 that I bought as an e-reader and I can also use it for Internet stuff too, and e-mail, and can even access this board with it.

If your iPad won't let you log and off could you sell it and buy something like a Chromebook? I love mine.

I love my PC. I have used a PC for eons. I have a tablet that I take on holiday with me, but that is the only time it gets an airing. I have a phone but it isn't a good one. I only use that for phone calls and texts. I'm a dinosaur .... and proud of it. :)

I'm kind of a dinosaur too. I'm only getting a new phone because Straight Talk said I need to upgrade mine in order to stay with their "new improved" service. I've only had my phone 3 1/2 years and I only bought it then because I needed a smart phone to continue using Uber. Now that I can use Uber without an app, I really don't need a smart phone. But it is nice to be able to check e-mail sometimes when I don't have my Chromebook with me. And the phone doesn't need wifi to access the Internet.

If I do move to the little town I'm thinking about I may just give up my smartphone altogether and go back to a flip phone that actually works like a phone. My "dumb" phone is good at almost everything except being a phone.
 
Well, I learned on a PC but not enough to keep it safe from virus' etc and as it is an expensive bit of kit and I do not believe in getting stuff on the never never so another tablet at a good price will tide me over until I bring in the big guns!

And completely off topic on this thread but didn't want to confuse things further on the Mod Elections thread. On that thread I stated I'm happy with any pronoun people choose. Which is true, mostly, except for you, Guzzler. I love it when you call me 'lad'! :happy:. Thanks!
 
Where I live the terms lad and lass are ageless but seeing as how you, @Antje77 are a good two decades younger than I am I feel that I can call you lad as you are only months older than my firstborn! Mind you, I have started to call him Granddad.

Erm, whatever you choose to call me, please don't call me granddad, unless you want me to feel very ridiculous :stop::hilarious:. I think I'd even prefer princess over granddad...
