Oh no! Could they be kept in an enclosed pen with a wire mesh lid? That is what we always did when we kept guinea pigs. Never lost one, though we did have an escape artist who would climb like a spider, and we never did find out how frogs managed to get in through the tight spaces in the wire mesh.
They could, but right now they have about 25 square meters of room, with trees and bushes and such. I wouldn't enjoy them in a small but sturdy pen. Nothing ever happened to the grown-up guinea-pigs, so I leave it like it is and won't do pregnant guinea-pigs again. Lesson well learned.

The gardener has been today with two young men. Three of them working from 8 till 4 and just the front garden cleared. I now have some beautiful rockeries I never knew were there, and a path across that was covered with weeds and overgrown plant life, not to mention some quite exotic looking trees and shrubs. Tomorrow they start on the back.

Yes, unfortunately many neighbours are paving over their gardens, extending houses, and filling in ponds. We are trying to maintain a homely environment for the frogs and hedgehogs, who also make a meal of the slugs and snails, but we seem to stand alone in our neighbourhood.
This summer I helped a friend build a pond and frog area with shade and logs. There are currently 3 frogs living there and they all have names! One loves to sit and watch us gardening.
I have lots of frogs in my garden, with frog and newt friendly log piles and damp areas. Trouble is, my cat likes to bring them in alive and they scream!!

I just found out I don't need to run my bg higher to get a sharper sense of hypo. If anything, I've been running lower in the past two weeks. The only difference is that I've only been below 4 once in two weeks, and not much below 4. Pretty astonished to be at 3.4/3.6/3.8 (different meters/libre) and not only aware of a hypo, which I would expect, but shaking, sweating and dropping things (my bottle of beer, yuck, and I couldn't clean it up right away because hypo, and it was the only bottle I had, grrrr), and being sad and angry at the same time.
I like having hypo-awareness, but if you ask me, this is a bit too aware!

I hope the weather continues to be warm and sunny for your break at Ambleside, Hayes Garden Centre is worth a visit, we go there often.
@Cumberland wandered down to Hayes this afternoon - nice garden centre presumably it’s still independent unlike many which have been taken over and, in many cases, ruined by Wyevale?

Hopefully it will stay that way - we have a couple of independent ones near us and they are a lot better than the Wyevale ones which are all the same. We go back tomorrow unfortunately ☹️ but have enjoyed it so will prob be back in a couple of years time and stay a little further up in the Keswick area!

All the lakes shorelines have receded due to lack of rain especially Thirlmere and Haweswater

Keswick is nice

Safe journey home to you and yours

Poor grammar, bullying and drunks.
Good morning Duckies. I woke up in a far more positive mood today and am now officially fit to keep polite company. Yesterday was a low mood day and a phrase my freind uses describes it well 'You could jump up and bite your own bum!' No bum biting today.
