Diabetics R Us

Evening all

Got home from work to find OH doing some ironing :), I have done some more this evening.
We have also been for a walk down the the river (Stour) which is about 200m from our house as one of the moored boats has sunk and the Environment Agency & coastguard are down there trying to sort it out

Thanks for the photo I did like living in Sandwich in days gone past.

I have my shingles vaccination in the morning. Everyone else I know had theirs when they had their flu jab. I queried why mine are not on the same day and was told they are now done in different clinics at the surgery. So, shingles tomorrow and flu 26th October. Strikes me as being a waste of resources, but what do I know.

Morning all

We had some rain during the night but its warm again this morning.

Have a good day.

H :)

Good morning everyone. Late up today, poor night's sleep but in my efforts to reach the land of nod I was listening to an old podcast with Ben Bikman as guest. He mentioned glucagon and while I had learned its role I hadn't paid too much attention to it. Bikman spoke of glucagon resistance while covering the subject of hypos/false hypos and GR is a real condition that can be caused by sclerosis, infection and alcoholism.
And the thought struck me, how unlucky would you have to be to have IR and GR at the same time? It would give a waggonload of endocrinologists nightmares trying to sort that one out.
Just a little factoid to brighten your day!

Hello Guzzler

We have had a run over the border this afternoon into Scotland

Sunny up there too
Back home now with a cuppa

How are you doing?

I've always liked Scotland. I'm not three bad at all, thanks. It is surprising how a bit o' sunshine and a change of scenery lifts the spirits.

I had my shingles vac this morning. So far so good. Not even a sore arm.
I have been gardening all afternoon making the most of the decent weather. I bought a load of spring bulbs the other day and now have no idea where to plant them. I am saving that job for another day.

Yes we got our passports stamped with haggis blood

Oh that has just reminded me of the time I made muligatawny soup for my grandchildren. They loved it but were most perplexed that I had bought free range muligs which was quite unusual because weren't they on the Endangered species list? Tears ensued.

Please tell me where you got the free range muligs I don't like the factory farmed ones !!!!

Evening peeps

I had a nightmare in work with the phone system today, 2 out of 4 lines not allowing us to call out so I was playing email tennis with the line provider & the phone system provider, neither of whom are BT. All I can say is grrrr . Both blaming each other, line provider saying there's no problem. Anyway we still have 2 lines not working and I gave up, by the end of the day I couldn't be bothered any more

Soooooo, my not drinking on school nights has failed tonight - I'm on the red wine :D
