Diabetics R Us

Used to love driving out to Badgers Holt at Dartmeet on Dartmoor for cream tea on a weekend they still do the scone cake cream teas which was fantastic.
I know it well! We had several meals in the Plume of Feathers Princetown over the week. Sadly too many chips....... although they didn't appear to affect my BG :)

Hi first time i have been in here. Was wondering if type 2 can hypo i was told they can't. Curious. Good morning Karen night time here.
Speaking from experience yes they can and the only medication I was on was metformin at the lowest dose.

Edit to add metformin being the only diabetes med I was on I should say.

Hi great to see you in here! I'm not sure about hypo is you're not taking any meds, but if I get below about 4.5 mmol I feel very shakey and know I need to eat. How low my liver would let me go I have no idea!

I was on 500 gm of metformin only and went down to 2.2 and on several ocations have been in the low 3's so you cannot rule out T2's not on blood sugar lowering meds having a hypo is rare but does happen.

Even though I am drug induced therefore technically a T3E

Hi @JohnEGreen thanks for that. I don't think I hypo but I do get very very hungry and shaky! But the lowest I've seen is 4.2 I think. You must feel pretty rough at 2.2 don't you? Do you treat it as a hypo and take something high sugar immediately?
