Diabetics R Us

Morning all

Alan has left for work already, he has to got to Horsham today but he is going via Billy's on the A29 for a "breakfast meeting" with the "boys":rolleyes:

Work will be quiet today, it's the East Kent Ploughing Match and as land agents we have a big marquee and play host to lots of farmers and land owners. I get to stay behind in the office and have a lazy day.

Have a good day.

H :)

Morning All. Another bright start but not as chilly as of late. Feeling not a little smug this morning, had to do some admin yesterday and popped to the shops afterwards. I was in Home Bargains and I found my hand on a large Soreen (no idea how it got there!) and I thought "One slice wouldn't do me any harm" but I didn't even get it off the shelf! I bought T-Towels instead. :D Another little triumph.

Chinese take-away day 4 and I still love it! What's more, I seem to get the hang of bolusing for it :) (I'm sorry, all you lovely non-insulin-controlled type 2's. But even with insulin, this is not an easy or often consumed meal, but well, I really love this food and it's not my fault a portion for '1 to 2 people' is enough to last me 5 days and allow for the dogs having leftovers daily as well). It has been kept in the fridge but I have my doubts regarding the wisdom of eating it 4 days (chicken, pork, beef, taken away hot, so warmed at least once and probably twice before landing on my plate) so fingers crossed all will be well :) . For safety's sake, I just fed all the leftovers to 3 very happy dogs, so I won't be at risk of trying my luck for a 5th day

Evening all

Today my DD, Sarah, booked tickets for us to see;

Rick Astley
:D

That is exciting! Funny I wasn’t a fan of either when they first appeared but love them both now - especially Rick Astley- what an amazing voice.
Lucky you, it’ll be a fabulous day I’m sure.

I've booked tickets to go to Wakehurst Place for 'Glow Wild' in December. I'm really looking forward to it. The woman on the desk gave me a really strange look when I asked if they do 'adult only' sessions! All I meant was, I didn't want to walk round with hundreds of young kids screaming and under my feet........

Also booked today - flu jab. Have you booked yours yet?
No. We don't get to book them, they do a walk-in flu-jab-everyone-thingy around here. Problem is to get to know time and date for it. It's supposedly in the local paper, which I don't read because it's very, err, local, and there will probably be a note at the GP/pharmacy about 3 weeks in advance. I guess they reckon everyone needing a flu shot is visiting them all the time, and if not, they've got nothing better to do than reading that idiot newspaper.
So I might be getting a flu shot or I might not, we'll see. I guess it takes only one time of getting the flu + diabetes to spend more energy finding out when I can get my shot.
