Diabetics R Us

Aww! My eldest has bought me a gizmo so that I can have remote control lights in my bedroom (I can choose voice activation or a little remote device). This saves me from having to call his brothers to switch them off/on. He is also thinking of putting in a dimmer.

I was wondering when the perks of having kids was going to kick in. ;)

I didn't realise they differed so much! Ours are much puffier, different markings... Live & learn. I miss having a garden, we just have a very bare balcony. Otherwise I'd probably be out there with a telezoom and macro all day long.

So would I. I am 12 floors up with no balcony. The KittenCat and I do see hawks frequently (it is nice being able to see them from above as they fly) and the odd crow.

Did you know that more robins are killed by other robins than die naturally? They are killers and hate competition from other robins - except a male and female at breeding times of course. This is why it is very rare to see two robins in your garden at the same time. However, they don't have visible territory boundaries like our gardens have, so one robin may have part of your garden and another may have a different part. If one crosses its own boundary in full sight of the other, a vicious fight can ensue or one flies off PDQ. I have seen it at first hand in my garden a few times.

I don't have a posh camera. These were taken with a Panasonic Lumix FZ150 bridge camera a few years ago. Birds are my passion rather than photography, although I have spent many hours photographing them. I lost interest but fully intend to rekindle my love.
Small birds usually are too fast for me to photograph, but I rather enjoy meeting falconers at lifestyle events all over. (Usually fantasy fairs, christmas fairs etc)/ Even did a workshop a while ago. Mostly consisted of holding a bird though. But it was nice to really connect with a tiny little Evil Owl. Nothing evil about him, and he seemed to meow at me! We were meowing back and forth to eatch other, haha. They're stunning to photograph... I'm very much a cat person, so I don't quite know how that meshes, haha.

Yikes! Ours just seem to hang out together on the lawn, pulling up worms and coaching their kids. The adult males and females look just alike (hopefully not to each other, though) but the fledglings have speckled breasts and a sort of cute young'un look.

Have a good day.

H :)

Did anyone see the eclipse of the moon? It's just finished and the moon is white again now, it was a pale red colour when I got up.

Alarm went at 5:15, so yeah... Pretty. :)

Fabulous photo. Well done.

I feed my garden birds and attract a lot of them. They perch in the nearby trees and bushes or on the fences, so easy to photo. I also had 2 bird baths at our previous hose (haven't got round to that in this house yet) so catch them having a bath or queuing up.

Thank you. And a birdbath sounds like photography-heaven to me! And like 'lunch' to our cat, haha. (He's too blind to see birds, but he sure can hear them. ;) )

There's a teagarden a few towns over that I think has one right where I can just sit and photograph and have tea at the same time... I completely forgot about it. Will have to stop by there again when it's warmer! Thanks for jogging my memory! ;)

I'm sorry to interupt but I am fuming, absolutely shaking with anger!

My son went to pick up my repeat script and was told to tell me I would have to go the surgery to see about it.
I had an inkling what this was about so I raced down there and my instinct was right. No review no rep script!
How dare they withhold my pain meds which have nowt to do with Diabetes, how dare they hold me hostage?

There's no rating-emoji for mad-right-along-with-you. That's just horrible!

Controlled substances? Over here they can be VERY hard to refill, and family members would probably not be able to pick them up. But pain meds are something people absolutely must have.

Well, I didn't go any farther than my own balcony. It was freezing, so... Maybe hold off on the dusting until spring, haha. ;)

I opened my window to breathe the outside air when I saw the huge full moon shining in at me at sunrise. -5 degrees feels wonderful, but seriously cold!

It is on my notes that carers and nominated family members can order and pick up my repeats. This had nothing to do my drugs and everything to do with ticking boxes. I do not want a review and I refuse to be bullied into having one especially, most especially, when the review has been booked with a HCA!

As you can prpbably tell I am still incandescent with rage.
