I think I've turned into my Mother. Youngest caught my eye when he was raiding the fridge, here's what was said.
Me: What are you doing?
Him: Nowt.
Me: Well, go back upstairs to do it.
Mum wasn't the most talkative and we did as we were told.
My youngest doesn't!

Is "Jan" a male and a female name in the Netherlands as it is in the US?

Not really. Jan is a male name. In Dutch, especially in Friesland, the province where I live and where they have their own language, you can put "je" or "tje" behind a lot of names which makes them female but is also used to make things smaller. You don't hear Jantje very often for women but it does exist.

Morning all
We had a lovely weekend away in the motorhome but the Sunday lunch in the local pub was very mediocre
and I'd starved myself of carbs to have roasties .
We did have a good walk on Sunday morning, burnt off some calories.
Back to work but a nice short week.

Morning all
I was up at stupid o'clock again
I had a new computer installed at work yesterday and didn't get a lot done so it looks like I'll be busy today. I'm no longer working off the server but will be working in "the cloud" from now on. And I got a new keyboard so some of the keys have moved 
, my typing today could be interesting
