Diagnosed type 2 two weeks ago

@Elmadon - Hello and Welcome :). If you go to the top of the page and click on Forums, then scroll down to FOOD and NUTRITION - there you will see all kinds of diets. The LCHF diet (Low Carb High Fat) is popular with a lot of Forum Members, it not only helps to lower your blood sugars and HBA1C but can help with weight loss too. :)

Welcome pogel. U need a codefree meter. U can get them on ebay. I found mine invaluable! I was diagnosed nearly 4 months ago now and I was very shocked and upset. But since being on here I have come to terms with it and I'm doing really well ( if I say so myself ). No one is perfect so if u falter just pick yourself up and start again. X

Thanks again for a warm welcome. My codefree meter hasn't arrived yet. I am dreading it really as I am not a fan of needles in any way.
I am pleased to report that I am no longer sweating crazily, that on its own is such a relief. But also am back to normal peeing:) sorry for tmi but I reckon we are all friends here.
Also since I have changed my eating habits I have no longer fallen asleep mid/late afternoon. I get up in the morning and am fully awake till bedtime.
No idea what this means as far as my blood sugar goes but it is a vast improvement as far as daily life goes.

It sounds like you are doing well and it is very possible that your sugars are coming down and this is why you feel better and pee less o_O. The only way of knowing for sure will be to test when you get your meter.

Hi @Pogel and welcome to newbies, I'm one too. Got my meter a week ago, and after some initial hiccups (I'm just a bit off a clutz) I'm beginning to understand my readings (ish). Don't be worried about the needles, the "pen thing" mean you don't actually see it do it's thing, so no great anticipation.

Good luck
