Only way to tell if it affects you is to do a BG test before and 2 hours after.

I'm beginning to think this elevates my blood sugar - not in a sharp way, just over time
Tasting something sweet can make your pancreas pump out some insulin. Which you don't need, because there's no actual sugar to deal with. Then, your liver helpfully dumps some glucose, to keep you from going too low, which... Yes, can then raise blood sugars. So the preemptive insulin can cause a glucose dump. It's not unheard of. Sorry, wish I had better news.

Can't stand diet coke myself, but Coke Zero is OK. It has absolutely no impact on my levels.

I do wonder if caffeine/caffeinated drinks would provoke adrenalin rises in some people, fooling the liver into dumping glucose?

Mountain out of mole hill makers ,queues , crowds , shopping on a Saturday hmm just shopping I guess no matter what day it is
I think this along with many other things proves why experimentation is virtually essential when living with diabetes.we have to find out what works for us as individuals , unfortunately it doesn’t happen overnight , but with perseverance it does happen and makes the journey of diabetes much easier.
on the subject of diet cola I’m more of a Coke Zero man myself not because it effects my sugars less ( neither do ) I just prefer the taste
good luck to all on our life long experiment

I'll have to try coke zero as I find Diet Coke so bitter, especially compared to full fat which I always used to have as a mixer (though never a big drinker, or never got drunk anyway).
