Diet Doctor Low Carb Challenge

Thank you both - its lovely to have someone to share worries with. :)

The meter is reading correctly - I checked it against a friend's and there was only 0.1 between her's and mine. (That was a bit of an eye opener.... she regularly get up to 15 and didn't understand why I was worried by a lowly 11.... )

I had really bad neck pain this morning - which I get quite a bit if I sleep very deeply - but it didn't go away after I got up and I took some Ibuprofen for it - that was after breakfast but before that first high reading. Maybe it was the arthritis or the Ibuprofen but I've had both before so I wouldn't think so. :meh:

Anyway, I haven't had anything to eat since breakfast but have drunk gallons of plain unflavoured water :angelic: and my latest test shows my BG as being down to 5.2.

So its a bit of a mystery really.o_O Thank you for suggesting its not enough to start worrying now - I know you're right - I really hope it doesn't turn in to a pattern. :dead:

I pleased to say my BG has dropped as well 5.4 currently. Still feel Yuk but I'll have a hot shower when I come back after depositing the boys at home. No 1 is at after school club. No 2 relaxing with Papa before we go to get brother. Libre looks like 2 large surf waves. 9.3 was as bad as it got but I used to go a lot higher before when I was unwell. Want to improve as I really want to go to aqua tomorrow as the steam will help (They have tumble tots after us on a Friday so the pool is always warm to say the least)

Better readings today but still yukky. Bed 6.3 FBG was 6.1 and pre breakfast 7.9. Not too bothered as bug still working away. Hubby thinks I should skip aqua but as I said the steam will help plus it brings BG down. Still hot but that will be the paracetamol.

Mine is high again this morning - but not quite as high as yesterday, thank goodness.

@maglil55 You are a brave woman to go swimming with a temperature. (I thought paracetamol is supposed to lower temperatures.)

Eeek! you might infect half the pool!

Mind you, that is only part of the reason I wouldn't go - I am just not safe driving when I have a temperature. Two near misses in two different bouts of illness, and now I just won't pick up the car keys. I'm just not safe.

It does but it makes me sweat hence why I was hot. Steam did help - didn't cough until I came out. There was a few of us that were bug infected so we stayed in the deep water.

Anyone got anything nice planned for the weekend?

We were going to take the dogs to the seaside but have now decided not to as the weather isn't supposed to be that good.

Mr C wants to go to the Fur and Feather auction at Selby but (from previous experience) there's no chance of him going there and coming back empty handed and I do NOT want any more chooks now that we've got the garden looking reasonably nice.

Any plans I had for the weekend have been scuppered by the arrival of over 200 extra closely typed pages for my appraisal session next Wednesday and I still have all my papers to read for Thursday as well ... Thankfully I'm a quick reader

I have the usual swimming with grandson followed by shopping and son and DIL babysitter has had an emergency so I'm babysitting the boys tomorrow night. Guess I'll watch Eurovision in peace always assuming they'll go to bed which is no mean feat on a Saturday. At least although I'll be late in I'll still get my Sunday lie in.

Still not 100% but BG improving so I must be getting better again Bed 6.2 FBG was 6.6 and pre breakfast 6.8. Must have a diet doctor planning day soon .

House cleaned, well cleaned enough, table set, food prepped and ready so sitting down for 20 mins to ease my aching bones. I think my late night is catching up on me.

I've had a relapse with this cold. Sore throat returned , fever back so back on paracetamol, cough back and achy bones. BG reacted accordingly bed on 8.2 but it dropped overnight and FBG was 6.6. 7.4 pre breakfast. We have some much needed rain today although that puts a stop to getting washing outside. I gain 1lb this week (although being strictly accurate it was 8 ozs). Don't know if being ill has an effect on weight as well as BG.

I'm back - I haven't had a moment to myself this weekend as we have on the hunt for an elusive computer cable. I think we've been in to every computer shop in a twenty mile radius and it was so..... BORING.

I felt deliciously naughty yesterday as I had four little Jersey Royal spuds in a pool of melted butter and a scrunch of seasalt with my dinner. I tested my BG two hours later expecting high numbers and was pleasantly surprised that it was about the same as it usually is after Sunday dinner.

Its miserable weather here today - just non-stop drizzle which occasionally increased to rain then back again to drizzle but you can see that the garden really needed it.

O. M. G.

Last week I sold a swimsuit to someone on eBay - it was a pink floral number with frilly bits (very much not me and a good couple of sizes too big).

So today I got a message from the buyer thanking me for it and saying HE looks lovely in it and do I want HIM to send me a picture of HIM wearing it???? O. M. G.:eek:

Now I have no problem with people who like to wear t'other sex's clothing - everyone's different - and I know I've sold things to transvestites before especially when I was selling some of my bigger size clothing - but none of them offered to send a picture before.

Oh that's the best laugh I've had in a long time. Real giggling belly laugh stuff. Please say yes to the photo. Reminds me of the time that I was driving back from Bristol to Scotland and had stopped at Stafford services for a coffee and a sandwich. Didn't pay much attention to the lady sitting at the next table until (s)he answered a call on a mobile and I thought what a deep voice? He had a very dark 5 o'clock shadow, wig wasn't great, and was wearing a pink jersey dress that clung in all the wrong places. The fake boobs were squint too and the poor soul had terrible problems walking in high heels. He was the most unlikely looking 'woman' ever.

.

Have you tried Google? My brother used to sell these things but sold loads of them off for a pittance when he retired in January.

Hopefully Mr C has contacted his employer's IT department so they can get it for him. I suggested Amazon but to claim the cost of it back he needs to get it from a 'proper' retailer with a VAT invoice.

I sent my buyer a message saying I am glad he is happy with his purchase but I'm being extra careful during this current virus / cyber attack and am deleting unread any emails or messages with attachments. I really don't want to see pictures of him in his cozzie.
