Diets

No I try counting the cabs an ajust it to that I have just started slow acting and I do 5 in the morning and 5 eving the problem is ther is no one to explain to me and I have to depend on the Internet
How low do you go, and can you find a pattern in when they happen?

If you are under proper diabetes care then you can ask to see a dietician. You'll get much better advice than reading opinions on the internet!
All diets need to be properly balanced.

Hm... I'm not sure if this: about getting better advice from a dietician - than presumably from the Diabetes.co.uk forums, is true for more than a minority.

And "All diets need to be properly balanced." - Well, that is something we can all agree on; except that humanity has survived just fine before anybody consulted a dietician, and still does for the most part.

According to the OP, @Francis faulkner , he is not getting help and advice from Health Care Professionals

As a new member, who is in need of advice and understanding it could be helpful if replies are from those with personal experience and knowledge of the issues around use of insulin and diet.

Hi @Francis faulkner and I'm sorry that your diabetic team are not helping you.

Forum rules don't allow us to give you specific dosing advice (that is supposed to come from your team who have your medical records, but we can give you general advice on diets and record keeping and how we manage our own insulin calculations. (A problem here is that where some people need literally 100s of units a day, others many need only 10 (or less). So we can't say specifically how many units you should inject.

Hello I'm on nova rapid and no i have not got one where I live the sevice is terrible

Novorapid is a fast acting insulin. So is the slow acting in addition to the novorapid and how much of what are you taking?

I am type 2 my blood shuger keeps crashing for no reason i am doing everything right enyone know why.thanks
If your blood sugar goes too low that is usually because you are either injecting too much insulin or are not eating enough carbs for that insulin. Usually when people start on insulin it takes a while to get the dosage right....

Members will try to give you support and help here but it may also be worth being aware of the DUK (the uk diabetes charity as opposed to these DCUK forums) which has a phone helpline for UK diabetics
