Disappointed after DSN appointment

I called my DSN earlier to update her on my last week's BG levels following her advice to only leave 8 hours between my Levemir injections...
A different DSN called me back, I advised her of my BG before bed and in the morning. I also told her I had done one 3am check and correction as Claire had advised. Katrina was horrified and said this should never have been advised as corrections through the night can cause hypos.
These are two DSN's from the same hospital clinic, offering completely different advice.
I've now been advised to up my night time Levemir by 2 units - after being told last week that changing my Levemir was pointless as it WOULD NOT have any affect on the impact DP has on my BG levels....
I feel very confused and irritated by this back and forth routine and complete lack of consistency

If it is DP, then upping your nighttime basal might cause you to go too low early in the night. I'd proceed with caution if you choose to do that, and test during the night.

To be honest, I listen to all the advice and then see what suits me. We have to live with our diabetes, and we're all different in the way we react to things.

Agree-night time increase more than likely will send you hypo....

The only way that got me out of DP and waking P was 4am jabs of bolus and then an hour before getting out of bed.

Much better with tresiba. Body tho is constantly changing for timings of bolus corrections -sometimes 4am or 5.30 or just 7am. I dont get 3 nights the same ever.

It is actually unlikely to send you hypo if you inject a bolus correction about 90 mins before the peak timings of your highs... but you need to find out the exact times of the peak.

Also, the timings of your basal then would be critical too.. because you wouldnt want the basal peak times of working coming in to action at the same time as any correction dose.

Honestly, tresiba is wonderful for keeping levels during the night actually level until the DP kicks in, and also only 1 basal jab a day.

Myself and also a young lady I know have both come off our pumps and far happier on tresiba with just 1 jab..
