Bananas contain potassium, which can help manage hypertension. One medium-sized banana contains around 422 milligrams (mg) of potassium. According to the American Heart Association (AHA) , potassium reduces the effects of sodium and alleviates tension in the walls of the blood vessels
Hi - if I ate what you're eating - the oats, chapati, banana in particular - my blood glucose would be sky high. Those are all very high in carb, which when digested is converted to glucose. Removing rice is fine, but you're just replacing one source of carb with another. Thanks for the reply Rachox .
I have to change my diet to something stricter from tomorrow morning itself ...
I am going to start the breakfast with Oats and eggs in the morning ...
The rest i will figure out a bit later .
Since i am from India , i need a food that can replace rice with something else for my lunch .
For dinner some Chappathi would be better with some boiled banana , salad and vegetables ...
Thanks
Bad luck developing golfer's elbow. As a long-time user, I know metformin is more effective when you're exercising daily.
Your injured limb may be making your normal positions in bed uncomfortable. You may find you drift off to sleep more easily, once the pain subsides.
Cauliflower rice is quick and easy to make if you have a food processor. If not, the coarse side of a box grater gets the job done.
May I ask whether you steam green bananas or the riper, yellow ones? If the latter, you could reduce your carbohydrate intake, without changing your routine, by switching to green bananas.
As noted above, wheat chapatis are not diabetic-friendly. Could you live with a chapati made with gram flour (besan) instead? That too would reduce your carb intake. Every little helps.
Wishing you a steady recovery.

Is anxiety keeping you awake at night? Once your elbow improves and you can exercise normally, I'd see your GP if your insomnia persists.
Since you've been using metformin for a while and don't eat much meat, it may be worth screening your blood for vitamin B12 and folate deficiency. Metformin therapy is known to reduce intestinal absorption of these B vitamins. Low levels are thought to heighten anxiety and affect circadian rhythms, causing you to fall asleep when it's time to get up.
Just a thought
