Having no energy as this is so limiting.
I have been looking at buying test strips and wonder are test strips uniform or are they unique to each manufacturer's monitor? And ditto the lancets? :?

Thank you

Rude people! Not being able to do the things I want to do.
Most meters have their own test strips. The lancing devices each have their own lances as well unless you just use the lance in which case it does not matter.

Lack of choice of insulin for newly diagnosed patients.
Dog owners who let their dogs poop in the street-a hazard for most, but worse if you're visually impaired!

Hi, each brand of test-meter takes differents strips, so you will need to ensure that the strips you buy are suitable for the meter you have.
It's the same with lancet devices I'm afraid.
Best thing is to find the best meter to suit your requirements re-memory, display, size, etc; and check out with the manufacturer how much the strips cost to buy direct from them.
I use a freestyle-lite,which is made by Abbot, it's small, light and has a backlit display. There are many others on the market.
hope that helps a bit.
