Just wondering I have been taking my readings before and after meals and was doing really well ...but since I started taking simvistatin my 2 hour after meal readings are 9 or 10 ish I am doing couch to 5 k challenge week 7 now ..and play golf regular ...anybody else notice an effect when taking simvistatin...thanks Jim
If you don't really, really, really need them, you might want to stop them, as yes... Statins do up blood sugars.Hi,

That was my level before starting the statin they said my ratio was a bit off and it's better to take it as a precaution. I take one tablet at night.
Wow those trigs are pretty high had you fasted for long before the bloods were taken.Total level 3.4

Interesting reading however I note that they state that pravastatin has minimal effect on serum glucose - when I was on Pravastatin my hba1c increased from 48 to 54!You might find this article helpful:
