Hi again,

Well I have been T2 for a few months now and my last hba1c was 7.8 up from 6.9 last time. Not doing very well am I. Question: Do I have to inform the DVLC about my diabetes? Been driving for about 30 years now.

DVLA.....as a Type 2 on Diet only or tablets or certain other injectable Med's you do not have to notify them at all. You MUST , however notify your Insurance Company.

dont worry about the insurance co. hiking your prices up or not insuring you tho.....they simply say as long as the dr says is ok, they are fine with it....I think when its insulin time then its inform the dvla...although thats mainly cos they will issue you with a 3 year licence and your dr will send them a letter if he thinks you are not fit to drive

Just spoken to my insurance company and could not have gotten a more helpful lady :D
After a pleasent conversation she was happy that the DVLA had been notified and were happy with my T2 under tablet control and that no action against my currant policy is needed, she did sadly decline my request to have a nurse tend me twice a week though
