An awful lot.
Went out for a reunion last night down Birmingham way for an old club now many years closed. At the meal l sat opposite the lady who used to run the canteen, turns out she is 40yrs type 1 and knows all there is to know about diabetes. She doesn't bother with check up's because she knows exactly what her body is doing all the time.
The woman and her friend whose husband used to be a club member who is a type 2 about 3yrs had been knocking back wine (t1 red t2 white) like they had been a month without water in a desert. ... you can probably see what's coming can't you.

I was telling the waitress what l wanted for my meal...Roast chicken breast, savoy cabbage, wild mushroom, no potato rossti and no peas and carrots. And top it up with any other veg you like.
Soon as waitress had finished l got what don't you eat. So l explained about the LCHF and how it worked and l had a few carbs only about 30g/day and no sugar, bread, potatoes, pasta, flour, processed type foods.
You are a disgrace you should be eating all that you HAVE to have that you should never go without that.
As you can guess l am not going to sit back and take that sort of stupidity or attack from anyone. We stopped before there was open warfare and she said should we change the subject l am so angry at you.
l told her the feeling was equal and my bloods were perfect my blood pressure was down and l wasn't terrified of the dr and p***ed out my brain.

We didn't speak much after that, she tried to push some breaded mushrooms on me on the basis they were breaded. l pointed out l am perfectly capable of eating the mushroom and leaving the bread skin but l wouldn't be able to eat my main meal, my stomach has shrunk to much. She never got that and behaved like a 6 yr old trying to push them at me till she finished them... and left the salad as disgusting. After her huge main meal of pie and chips and a huge dessert her t2 friend ate similar they continued with the wine till about midnight when they finally left.

I know she inj's to cover but l doubt that it is very precise just because she has lived this long with no obvious problems other than alcohol she doesn't test her bloods and she is hardly a shining example of diabetic control or understanding.
Her t2 friend is very mouse like and would not have the courage to eat what she was meant to, she had at first tried to ask a question about my LCHF but had been cut off and retreated back into herself, l do wonder how her t2 friend will end up dying. l doubt p***head would care though so long as she plays queen bee.

it would not go well for me in that situation, i am unable to not give my opinion and id think nothing of ruining the evening for everyone if i had to make a point, my wife says im agressive (not violent) but im not, i just like a good debate, got it from my dad but he was a big drinker so was a proper pain in the **** lol

You can pass on good advice but whether it's taken or not is another matter. Each to their own ! Certainly wouldn't let it spoil my evening. Let them crack on.

That woman sounds like a right bossy cow... I can't be doing with pissheads around me. You poor thing, having to endure THAT all evening.

I am afraid l suffered Andys problem l wanted to rip her head off but l did not want to spoil the night. I felt angry about the other t2 person because she was like it or not in deep trouble because of one persons selfishness

Sadly yes, but you did mention your diet and that could have planted a seed in the T2 persons mind... so, hopefully it might be brought to their attention again at a later date and give them food for thought. Then she can recall to mind the wise words you spoke... hehe

Sadly, you will have the last laugh - when you attend the funeral! It is extremely irritating when people can't live and let live! Especially as you didn't start the discussion! I have got to the stage where I am thinking of carrying preemptive flags cards - lol!
Shame she spoilt your night! Next time I recommend the Polar Bear Inn. Sadly it's a virtual pub on this website but the company is more convivial! :)

Supposed to be flash cards- bl@@@y predictive text - lol!

Not if she was wasted on vino lol ! Doubt she could even recall talking to you :)
In that case, she, (the T2 woman) deserves everything she gets.

Well was lovely to see old friends and lot of memories, met an old friend not seen for years and he and l ended up in tears over my other half who passed in an accident. Wondered where 24yrs have gone some have died one of pancreatic cancer... made me glad my problem is simpler.
I did push this forum so hope t2 comes on here.

l like the flash cards idea

Sounds like too much wine was consumed, don't let the actions of one person spoil an evening.
