Well, I have followed the LC diet for a week now. I started weighing myself last Friday at Boots where I was 14st 11lbs with a BMI of 25.8 (I am between 6ft 3 and 6ft 4). I have to say that I have been reducing weight since late January from 15st 3lbs without LC (although I was probably eating lower carbs as crisps had gone out of the window). My weight today was 14st 7lbs and BMI was dead on 25. A loss of 4lbs and lovely start to my Friday. My aim is to get to 13st 9Ibs as I am sure I read somewhere that the Newcastle professor recommends a 15% weight loss at least. I have to say that it is all rather painless so far. 7lbs to go to target although I suspect that might be harder. My second target is to get under 13st by around four pounds. Delighted to have achieved my first target of being 25 BMI.

Hope everyone has a good weekend and keep the receipes coming!

Very well done @adriangoatseye! Now, don't go and blow it all on celebrating the loss! (Not, that I've ever done that - nooo!). I agree that LC is a fairly painless way to lose weight. I hope this makes you smile all weekend! As for recipes, I may post a Punjabi King Prawn one soon - just need to make it one more time to "test" it... ;-)

Thank you Pink Minx. I am glad you didn't pick me up on my poor maths in my post. I said I had a target of 13st and, at 14st 7 only had 7lbs to go. I guess that teacher training, economics degree etc etc was education money well spent.

My next success is far more monumental. I have just been to the doctor's for the results of my all important second blood test and they have come back as normal. I am not going to be diagnosed as diabetic. While I am, obviously, very happy about this I will not slip back into my old ways because the short journey I have had on this has already taught me a lot about looking after my body better and how food manufacturers are conning and cheating us. I have greatly enjoyed cooking from scratch more often so the all-important lifestyle changes are something I want to keep. I guess I have been impressed at the way people on here have used their own minds and judgements to take control of things and not be reliant on failing systems of control.

I still want to use the recipes on here but, sorry, I have to admit that I cannot stand prawns. I'll swap them for chicken.

Hey that's great Adrian, but how are your BG levels going on the diet? Don't get me wrong, I think weight control is important. But to be honest I think that your BG levels and overall fitness are just as important, if not more important, at your current BMI.
