Friends as you know I am trying to get down to low intake of carbs. But what can I do when I go out for a meal.My usual was always jacket potato and chicken curry or prawns with a small salad of tomatoes and Coleslaw. I don't want salad in this cold weather any other suggestions for me please.I do have livelife low carb bread now.I am also going to try coconut porridge with berries.

I usually opt for a meat, say gammon that comes with veggies and chips but ask for the chips to be substituted for a second vegetable. I scour the menu for what veggies they serve and ask for one that I know they have in the kitchen. I haven’t been refused yet and also not been charged any extra. If they are served with a sauce, I ask for it to be served separately so I can just have a smudge of it in case of any hidden sugars.

Don't laugh, but I wanted a hot grab and go meal last night between leaving work and arriving at choir practice. The quickest thing I could find was a reduced priced hot roast poussin in Tesco. I bought it and sat on the steps of the church hall where the choir practice is held and tore up my prize with my bare hands to eat it like a wild animal. I must have looked a sight, but my blood glucose later on was excellent!
