Had an interesting one on getting on the Eurostar this morning. Going through the metal detector gate, I kept my pump on to see what would happen.

Happy to say that they recognised it for what it is (the security representative said "Insulin pump!") and swabbed it to check for explosives, then carried on.

Very impressed with the recognition.

Nice to hear @tim2000s

We are possibly going on Eurostar next year and it would be my first time abroad since being diagnosed.

When going through the security checks am I right in saying you can go through the traditional gate style scanners with your pump, it's just the full body X-Ray ones we avoid?

Pump
I've traveled a few times with my pump. It doesn't even set off the machine, in my experience, but I wear it clipped to my belt, so I just raise my sweater and tell them I'm wearing a pump and walk through. Same in Istanbul as in London, except in Istanbul they didn't swab it.
