can you do this for a month and see the result.? use a food counter and double check the carbs, half are wrong on them, but as a T1 you may have found that out already.
roughly, don't get OCD on it
30g carb a day from veg and salad / 120cal
60g protein / 240 cal
rest from healthy fats and oils 150g / 1350 cal. for energy
total ~1700 cal [you may be eating less than this now, but try it]
a long page and a few good video’s

im ty 2 and I know how hard it is to los e weight b of food ut I have found small portion help and it sounds silly but have started to knit again and it is keeping me from from thinking of my favourite thing food .Aw Kelly, I really feel your pain. I have been diabetic for nearly 20 years and I still find it a massive struggle to control.
I too like you struggle to lose weight. The way I explain it is if I eat like a 'normal' person and healthily at that, I still gain weight, I feel like in order for me to try to lose weight I practically have to starve myself! and even then the scales hardly budge.
I have been trying to do low carb high fat but again the weight isn't shifting and I find it soooooo restrictive. The only good thing about it is that my sugars stabilise the best they have ever been since being diabetic.
However, I amd sick and tired of eggs for breakfast so thought I would maybe just have a few more carbs and introduce a mullerlight light today (12g) and my sugars went mental!
I wish there was a fix all for it but I just don't see where there is. I really hope you manage to get things sorted but at least you can come here and vent on here and we all understand.
And..if you do find something that works them please let me know xxx

Jenny ruhls diet 101 explains the cholesterol ups and downs re lchfHey m786xxx....I am currently following The Body Rescue Plan by Christianne Wolff...i did post a link on another thread but it got taken down...but you can google search.
It is a 12 week healthy living plan with diet and exercise.
The first week is a detox...NO wheat, gluten, dairy, alcohol, sugar or processed foods. The only carbs you are allowed are sweet potatoes and other veg and fruits.
Then each week you can slowly add a little something back into your diet, like more coconut oil, olives, small amount of carbs such as pasta or brown rice or cous cous etc and that kind of thing.
All food is cooked in coconut oil...i use the spray kind and a good non stick pan.
I dont eat any wheat or gluten now and i have to say i feel so much better health wise. I used to suffer awfully with tummy upsets and i havnt had any since i stopped eating bread or cereals etc anymore.
I do miss a good granary bread sarnie at times tho lol.
I eat wheat and gluten free pasta and even tho it is more expensive i think its totally worth it for how i am feeling these days.
A typical day diet is as follows:
Breakfast: 2 egg omelette with mushrooms or any veg of your choice. Boiled egg with asparagus soldiers.
Dinner: Chicken/Salmon/Prawn salad. Fruit.
Tea : Sweet potato chips with a chicken breast cooked in silver foil with slices of lemon and spices, served with veg. Salmon and broccoli wheat free/gluten free pasta. Fruit
Snacks: a few cashew nuts and almonds.
I have recently watched a video about diabetes on another thread and a doctor said that low carb but high fat is good for diabetics but i do worry about cholesterol levels. So i am a little confused as to what i am meant to be eating...but for now this diet and exercise plan seems to be slowly working.
I do not know the name of this new drug yet as my diabetic nurse advised that as its fairly new out she isnt allowed to prescribe it to me and so i have been referred to a specialist diabetic team to see a doctor there and a dietician and then they will decide if this drug will be good for me.
I will of course keep u posted.
I am kinda hoping its a miracle cure but i do live in the real world lol.

No I don't think so. Your body is adjusting now to normal functioning. Stick to it and all will get back to normal soon. As for the weight gain I suppose it will happen now (at least a bit). If you haven't taken your insulin for months I suppose youre underweight now. Few more pounds is really not a big price for feeling and looking healthy. Good luckWell I thought I would give u all an update I have started taking my insulin again after not taking it since April I have been taking it now for 4 days and have gained 1st 4lbs honestly is this normal my stomach is distended my calls feel like they will explode when I bend down is this how it is going to be for the rest of my life
