Fast, or graze?

I'd be glad to hear everyone's opinion about whether it's better to avoid sugar spikes by eating little and often, or to fast for long periods. When I fast (more or less) for 24 hours, the next day I'm pretty hungry and I eat more than usual, so I get spikes. Any advice from you lovely people?
I'm 60, borderline pre-diabetic/T2 and I have low BMI.

Fasting is simply the time between meals, and it's up to you to do what is right for your body. Some people find they are best on 3 meals a day, some have regular extended fasts of days. No rules.
Do you have a meter and test your bg?

Edit to add
Grazing or snacking is not generally recommended as it keeps bg levels raised. Time between eating gives bg time to subside

Do you get spikes because you eat lots of carbs when you are hungry?

Fasting won't help unless assisted by avoiding dietary carbs too.

yes I think I probably overdo the nuts tbh. I don't eat any meat and that definitely complicates the low carb thing but I'm not tempted to start

I have tried both ways of eating. The best results for me are from eating just 2 meals a day. Easily the worst results are from snacking. In any event the big secret to getting improved results is disipline, snacking obviously does NOT fulfill this requirement. I no longer eat meat, chicken or fish, not because of any ideals but just because it suits me better. I get my protein from eggs, cheese and some selected bean types. In the final analysis its all about testing different foods ,what suits you best and "eating according to your meter'. ie taste and test. Took me ages to find what suited me best, but I cant see any short cut alternatives to finding out whats best for you. We are all so different. I wish you good luck with your search. Ah ,almost forgot keep portion sizes within limits[ yours] and record everything you eat ie manage a diary for tracking progress, both positive and negative.

I also eat twice a day, was eating 3 times a day but felt that i didnt need to after a while. My weight loss had also stalled at 14 stone. Cut out a meal and weight has now leveled off at 12.5 stone. I eat morning and dinner time (when i wake up and 4 o clock in the afternoon) with 2 chunks of 90% lidt at night for being a good boy :)

I have 4 eggs and cheese for breakfast then i choose between steak, lamp chops or Pork chops for my afternoon meal. I have samon as a treat now and again :). I ended up doing a carnivor diet due to checking my bloods before and 2hrs after everything i ate and drunk for the first 4 weeks (about 8 times a day).Quickly found out that anything over 8 grams of carbs put me at or over 2 points higher 2 hrs after a meal

Even just eating meat i noticed with 3 meals a day i would end up with blood sugars at around 6.5 to 7 at the end of the day and would end up with morning bloods of 5 to 5.5. These days i am between 4 to 4.5 in the morning and my A1c is where i want to keep it now

Like Pasha said everone is different and there are lots of options out there, you just have to find what works for you. Hope you all have a healthier new year :)

For me grazing was a disaster. I now eat one substantial meal a day (evening) with plenty of protein and animal fat. I sometimes have a smallish near zero carb snack around mid-day (meat, cheese, olives for example) that usually doesn't affect my BG at all. If I'm busy and forget to eat I can go 36 hours or so fasting. I haven't ever been hungry on keto/IF - sometimes ready to eat, but never the craving I had when those "healthy eatwell carbs" were a substantial proportion of my food.
