Type 2 Fasting blood

I'm abit confused before sleep blood sugar 5.6
On waking this morning 6.4
It's called Dawn Phenomenon. When you wake, your liver dumps some glucose to get you some energy to start the day. So it's quite normal to see a rise in the morning.

Thanks for your reply so need to worry
Hi all
I've been t2 for about 6yrs on metformen x4 tabs a day if t2 is in remission at what level should blood sugars be at .
Dn wanted to put me galictizide tabs but I'm told they have a high risk of hypos ( I'm a hgv driver)so not good for me so trying healthy eating all good so far down to 14stone 6 from 15.4

Hi @Nightman

Congratulations on the weight loss. Below is a link to blood sugar levels

https://www.diabetes.co.uk/diabetes_care/blood-sugar-level-ranges.html

I would speak to your DN and ask that you put off the additional medication for three months whilst you continue to diet and that you are checking you BG levels. Most of us find that by reducing our carbs significantly it can both reduce r BG levels and weight as well

Have a look around the forums and ask any questions as the good folk on here are very helpful
